New 20/05/23 Exhibitors at this year's ENVIROFAIR - HERE

Saturday 3rd June sees Stoke Environment Group’s Third Annual ENVIRONMENT DAY in  the Williams Hall, Stoke St Gregory - Free Entry & plenty of free parking. Make a note in your diary - it will be ‘Serious Fun For All The Family’. If you came to either of the first two ENVIROFAIRS you only need to know that this one will be even bigger and better.  One thing we can reveal is the return of the BIRDS. Sharandy’s Bird Sanctuary will be giving us two sessions of their ‘Owl Experience’ - see HERE I was busy doing something else last year but I'm not going to miss them this time!

Exhibitors include Somerset Beekeepers, Offgrid Solutions, Woodland Trust, RSPB, Climate Action Taunton, Somerset Wildlands, Secret World, Reimagining the Levels, Somerset Wildlife Trust, Somerset Environmental Records Centre, Centre for Sustainable Energy, Dykes Farm (Raw Organic Milk), Lou’s Crafts by the River. There will also be a detectorist’s ‘Finds Table’, a Plant Table - see HERE, a ‘Botany Table’, a ‘Carnivorous Plants Table’, and don’t forget the ‘Reusable Nappies Table’! Also a chance to make your own Swift or Bat Box, and art activities for the younger visitors.

Refreshments include a Veggie & Meat Barbecue, Wady’s Cider, & Tea, Coffee etc from Brew Planet. And nothing in Stoke St Gregory would be complete without a raffle - lots of eco friendly prizes donated by local and national companies. Tickets only available on the day.

A new stall this year will be provided by Somerset Waste Partnership - see HERE - unless they have changed their name by now? Bring along your unwanted smart tech - desktops, laptops, game machines, tablets, phones, accessories. Rather than going for stripping and recycling, what ever can be repaired or refurbished will re-enter the market and help with balancing the digital divide between rich and not so rich.

We Need Seeds, Seedlings & Plants For Our Plant Table

PlantSwap.jpg

Please think about it NOW. If you are planting seeds, can you sow a few more in another container to let us have on the day?

If you have some plants you are thinning, can you pot them up now, so they have time to root?

And can you make sure you label them?

Please drop them off to the Village Hall as early as you can on the morning of

Saturday 3rd June

Bring something with you & take something away; or just bring something with you; or just take something away.

All free, but there will be a pot for donations.

Fixy

Somerset Waste Partnership’s Fixy

initiative will be there and will happy to receive any smart tech equipment you are willing to donate. They will accept donations of unwanted laptops, tablets, mobile phones, digital cameras and other smart devices. All data will be securely wiped before items are passed back into the community. If it’s working or repairable it will help bridge the digital divide between the rich and the not so rich.
